Primary Care infrastructure fund

NHS England hosted a meeting to consider the applications by practices in the region to submit recommendations for consideration by a national panel. Each CCG sent a senior representative and Dr Chris Hewitt attended on behalf of LLR LMC to ensure due diligence and adherence to a fair and consistent process.

Up to £250 million is available in the first year of the scheme to be allocated to practices across the whole of England. The funding for the first year is limited and national allocation will be against very strict criteria, which may leave many practices disappointed. However over the four years of the scheme £1 billion has been earmarked.

Hopefully the criteria for the scheme will be broadened and LLR practices which are unsuccessful with their bids this time may have a better chance in subsequent years.  At time of publication there was no decision from the national panel on the successful LLR practices.
