Peer to peer mentoring for GPs

Would you be interested in being a part of a new, Leicestershire-wide peer-to-peer mentoring scheme?

We have secured funds from the Area Team to pay for this pilot project just for Leicestershire GPs.

You will receive training, online support and access to a community of learning and you can train to be either a Mentor or a Mentee.

We will charge participants a small fee of £50 to join the scheme.

Mentee benefits:
•      Accessing impartial advice and encouragement through a supportive relationship
•      Assistance with problem solving
•      Improving self-confidence
•      Professional development
•      Encouragement to reflect on practice

Mentor benefits:
•      The opportunity to enhance your skills in developing others
•      The opportunity to reflect and review your experience and offerinsight into the learning gained
•      Invaluable insights into your own working situations through working with the mentee’s issues
•      Intellectual challenge and the satisfaction of helping another develop
•      Supporting your own revalidation and career development

Practice Benefits:
•      Create a more supportive and developmental culture within the Practice
•      Improve skills within the Practice to support junior staff and career development
•      Transfer skills to leadership and management roles to enhance the Practice leadership
•      Develop your Practice profile and aid your recruitment and retention

Your commitment:
•      Attend (mentors and mentees) launch day with training – 25th June 2015
•      Complete online survey to aid our evaluation
•      Meet with your mentor/mentee when required
•      Use the online MentorNet system to contribute to the development of the resource
•      Mentors attend a refresher day – 14th January 2016

This is first come, first served and we only have places for 20 mentors and 20 mentees, so click here to register your interest, or contact Anu Rao or Susan Shaw.
